In the human eye, cones look like a cone, while rods look like short rods. Rods are connected in "parallel", and they detect minimal amounts of light. Cones tend towards a "serial" transmission to the nervous system. Cones also come in various types -- red detecting, green detecting, or blue detecting -- so they enable color vision. Books have been written on this subject, and I wrote a short paragraph.
Rods and cons are types of photoreceptors in the human retina. Rods are responsible for vision at low light levels (scotopic vision). Rods do not mediate color vision. Cones are more active at higher light levels (photopic vision). They are capable of color vision.
Rods and cones are similar in that, they both are parts of the retina and are responsible for vision. Other than that, their functions are complete opposite of each other.
Rods by far.
The rods are all over the retina to absorb light. The cones are limited to a small area to fill in color.
The rods let you see black and white, and the cones let you see color
they play to help you
yes
There are cones and rods in the eye. While Cones detect color from white light, Rods sense the intensity of the light. For example, let's say green light has 47 intensity and orange has 27 intensity. While cones detect which color is which, rods are basically doing the similar thing as cones are but different because it detects which intensity is which.
You find rods and cones in the back of your eye near the retium
Rods and cones are parts of the eye. Cones allow for color vision, while rods allow people to see in very low light.
Rods and cones are nerve tissue contained in the retina.
Rods respond to light while Cones respond to color.
Rods respond to light while Cones respond to color.
rods and cones
There are two types called rods, which a simply sensitive to light and dark, and cones which are sensitive to colours. Both types are found on the retina but the rods dipsersed evenly over the surface whereas cones are concentrated on an area called the fovea.
Rods are a part of the eye that takes in low light. Cones are located in the retina and they are responsible for seeing in color. All mammals have rods and cones in their eyes.

An eye. Rods and cones detect light and colour.
