You need at least a 3.0 college GPA if you are transfer student. They do not list a minimum GPA for high school students applying, but it lists some other requirements. Admission requirements include essay(s) and SAT Reasoning Test or ACT. If you take the ACT, the writing portion is required. They consider the rigor of your classes to be important and have a required list. Those requirements include: 1 Elective 4 English 2 Foreign Language 3 History 3 Math 3 Science (one of these has to be a lab science) 3 Social Studies This list is the bare minimum, so if you take more than those, that is great.

In answering this question, I assume you are referring to transferring from an "accredited" 4 year college, not a junior college, and the courses you have taken in your first year (you are not attempting a transfer as a sophmore or junior) at your current school are transferrable to Michigan. An in-state transfer would need at least a 3.0 GPA. Out-of-state transfers would probably need a higher GPA. Special tracks, such as pre med or pre vet, would probably need a 3.5. Expect some or most credit hours not to transfer! Although they state a 3.0 is minimum expect a 3.7 to be at a bare minimum to show you as a competitive applicant. they have a 40% admit rate and most of those are highly qualified applicants

MSU will not give you a minimum GPA requirement for entrance. Probably for several reasons. Primary among these is that they don't have one. The average GPA for entering freshmen in 2013 was 3.5, but those with lower GPAs are still considered. They also look at your application and essay, your SATs (ACTs for those who have them), volunteer hours and types of experience, hobbies, extracurricular activities (sports and clubs).
