A health professional told me 15 carbs per meal is not excessive. However, to lose weight, 7 carbs a meal is a reasonable number because your body does require carbs to function normally. . For weight loss, the usual range is 20 to 60 grams daily . You must determine how strict you need to be;… the best way is to experiment and discover what amount works well for you as an individual. . The number of carbohydrates needed per day depends on whether you are trying to lose weight or maintain weight . For more information about both, and the number of carbohydrates needed, see the related questions and answers, further down this page, listed under Related Questions. (MORE)
The total amount of calories from fat should make up around 30% of your diet. Each gram of fat contains 9kcals. So for example, If you were consuming 1500kcals a day then 30% percent of those calories should be fat. Calculations: 1500kcals / 100 X 30 = 450kcals 450kcals / 9 = 50 grams So… a person consuming 1500kcals a day should consume around 50 grams of fat per day. This does not mean to say all these calories should be saturated fats (bad fats). These calories should be consume with unsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (good fats) as well. For an average person on a 2000 calorie diet, 20g should be the minimum intake of overall fats, with a maximum of 60g. A cat should eat enough calories to satisfy its metabolic needs - this is based upon age, weight and exercise level. For a typical 10# adult cat, approximately 1 cup of dry kibble or 2-3 cans of cat food (the larger size, not the Fancy Feast size) should be adequate. A cat with chronic renal failur…e (crf) should modify the diet to decrease the protein and sodium content but the calorie count should remain consistent (unless the cat also needs to lose weight). There are several prescription diets available from your veterinarian that have been specifically formulated for cats with renal disease - they are more expensive, but they are also the best dietary option for cats with low kidney function. The average adult should have a minimum of 2000mg-3000mg of potassium per day. This can be achieved through the natural consumption of certain kinds of foods, particularly fruits and vegetables. There are circumstances where potassium is readily lost and needs to be replenished in excess of the mini…mum daily amount listed above. The number is smaller for children and infants. Anyone with concerns of potassium deficiency, due to food allergies or special dietary requirements, where natural sources for potassium are precluded; should consult a doctor about the exact dosage they need to supplement each day. Potassium is essential for muscle health, particularly the heart. A deficiency, among other things, can cause muscle cramping and in extreme cases, can cause death. People on "low carb diets" will find they need to take special care to get the proper amount of potassium each day, as potassium is used in the ketosis process to diffuse byproduct chemicals left in the bloodstream; therefore additional potassium is needed regularly to replenish the body's potassium stores. Potassium is diffused by the kidneys, through sweat, urine or other bodily excretions. In this manner, excess potassium is removed from the body through urination and sweating. Barring kidney trouble, it is difficult to actually overdose on potassium, but not impossible. People should consume more potassium after intense sweating, if your diet is high in salt or in case of abnormal or extraordinary bodily excretions (such as vomiting or diarrhea) as these will result in a loss of potassium in the excreted bodily fluids. Supplemental potassium can also be needed if you are on certain kinds of heart medicine. Muscle cramps are typically a sign of one being low in potassium. (MORE)

If you're talking about a growing puppy, feed them liberallybecause they grow up fast, and I mean fast! Especially is they'reGerman German Shepherds as opposed to American German Shepherdswhich are smaller. Once they reach their full growth -my two dogsgot to this point at 2 1/2 years old- they shou…ld eat twice a day,two cups of food each if they're fixed, three if they're not. Also,I include in one of their meals an egg, some milk, cheese oryogurt, and some canned food. Try their food to be good qualitybecause it will show in their fur and their energy level. A goodway to know if food is good is to smell it; the smell should becloser to meat than to corn flakes. Good luck with your dog, starttraining him/her early, otherwise they will outsmart you. Water isfuel for German Shepherds, they drink a lot so have always a bigcontainer with fresh water available for your dog. Ps if you want to make your dog extra big feed him alot a day like3 times and lots of water and milk and walk it 4 times a day andkeep him ou in a shed or somthing that's good training . There are so many variables I can not give you absolute answer. First: Shelties vary a lot in size. The breed "standard" calls for a range of 13 inches to 16 inches at the shoulder. That is a big difference in itself, and then considering they can often range from 12 inches to 18 inches. So, size… is a factor. Secondly: just as people, each dog varies in their metabolism. Thirdly: activity level. Fourthly: the brand of dog food. The best gauge to determine if the amount you are feeding your dog is his body. Look at him and feel him. You want to "just" be able to feel his ribs and his hips. But you don't want the bones protruding. A good quality food, first listed ingredient "meat". Some decent kibble is Innova, Canidae, Premium Choice, Natural Balance, Wellness, Eagle Pack. There are many others on the market more recently as well. For a "larger" Sheltie, I would start around 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup in the eve. See how he does, and vary from there. (MORE)
Fully grown Angelfish should be fed morning and evening as much as they will eat in 15 minutes. Uneaten food must be removed immediately. Young Angels should be fed as often as they will eat. (at least every 4 hours) They should have their tummies kept full if possible so that they will grow rapidly…. Having evolved in the Amazon, perfect water quality is absolutely essential for Angelfish so the basic rules apply. The basic rules of fishkeeping are. :- 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water.(1 adult pair of Angelfish needs a 35 gallon tank) :- Every tank must have a permanently running filter. :- Every tank must have at least 50% of its water replaced every week. Angelfish are tropical and should be kept at around 78F to 85F. Stick to the above rules and your fish stand a chance of survival. Fail to look after the fishes water as above and I can guarantee that your fish will be constantly getting sick and will live a much shorter life than it should. (MORE)

There is no correct answer for this, as how much a kitten eats can depend on several factors: The kitten's age, size, activity level, appetite and the quality of food being fed. A cat's food is also a huge factor in how much it eats: A cat will eat far more if fed a lower quality food to get the nut…rition it needs, and will eat much less if fed a premium quality food that has a high meat content and no grains. Kittens on growth spurts also tend to eat much more also. Kittens can eat as little as 100g or 200g of canned/pouched food and as much as 400g or 500g in a day. Kittens often need much more food than an adult cat as they are still growing and developing. It is advised to feed as much as it wants until it reaches a year old. Be sure to feed small but frequent meals, especially for younger kittens as they have small stomachs. (MORE)

My salt may come from dried lakes in Spain. It is a big business there due to the climate. For you it could be the same but not from the country, but as an import.
Be guided by your Doctor, but please understand that your body needs a certain amount of salt to keep it healthy, especially in hot climates. This is because salt is used in the body to balance the osmotic properties of your blood, in part of the bodies self regulatory processes and for the propagat…ion of nerve impulses down nerves. Salt is lost from the body rapidly when you sweat and if you end up with too little salt you can become ill. Therefore a diet with NO salt is probably not good for you. Similarly a diet with too much salt is also bad. (MORE)
Cows are easily able to lick enough salt from a block to sustain them long term. Horses lack the ability to lick enough salt from a salt block, so most do better with loose salt. Cows and horses have different mineral needs, but their requirement for salt is similar. . Yes. Salt blocks are standard for both cows and horses: there really is no discretion as to whether a particular block is better for horses than cows or vice versa. (MORE)

I'm not a nutritionist, but I would think it's a matter of balance. Pastries for breakfast every day, followed by pastries candy and soda for lunch and dinner every day would be a sure way to give your child a lifetime of sickness and misery, to say nothing of serious weight and dental problems and …a higher risk of diabetes. A small total intake of sweets in a day, even if it might amount to small amounts at different times, wouldn't be unreasonable. Also keep in mind that treats and snacks are different. There are lots of healthy snacks that add nutrients as well as fun to a child's day. Sweets are ok but in terms of food value they are usually nothing but useless sugar, fat, salt and chemicals.
