Believe it or not, the name of the island that Long Beach sits on is Long Island - so original!
How do I know this? Because I went to Mapquest and put in "Long Beach". When the map came up , i zoomed in really close and , voila, there is was: "long island" is written ,at about mid-island, in italics.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, Jones Beach is on Jones Island.
