The timing should be set to 12 degrees. First you must fully warm up the engine and then disconnect the coolant temp sensor in the thermostat housing. On the back of the engine (Drivers Side) you will see a rectangular hole to see the timing marks. The hole will have 0 near the front of the car (towards the radiator, and 20 near the back of the car ( towards the firewall).
Now loosen the bolt at the base of the distributor (13mm) and rotate the dist. slowly until the groove in the window on the fly wheel reaches the 12 degree mark. Tighten the distributor back down, and reconnect the coolant temp sensor.
Disconnect the negative cable on the battery to erase the codes set by disconnecting the coolant temp sensor.
You should be good to go now! Hope this helps.
