There are several varieties of 1935-A $1 silver certificate. Auction prices for circulated bills as of 03/2012:

* The most common variety, with a blue seal and no other special printing is worth $2 to $3 depending on wear.

* With a blue seal and a small red "R" in the design indicating a trial run printed on a particular type of paper, $35.-$125.

* With a blue seal and a small red "S" in the design indicating a trial run printed on a different type of paper, $30.-$100.

* With a brown seal and the word Hawaii overprinted for use during WWII, $10.-$40.

* With a yellow seal for use in North Africa during WWII, $10.-$20.

A bill's serial number is just a counter so including it in a question generally doesn't help to identify it or affect its value. There are collectors who will pay a premium for bills with low or patterned serial numbers; e.g.12345678 or 00000005.

1935 was the longest-running series of $1 bills. The "A" series letter indicates this bill may have been printed as late as 1945. In fact, the 1935 series extended until March 1965 and the series letters reached H.
