It's not gold, it's plated. The mint never made any gold quarters. For one thing, they'd be worth about $500!
There are private companies that take ordinary coins, plate them with a thin layer of silver or gold, and sell them at high prices as "collectibles". The problem is that there's almost no resale market for these items so the chances are almost zero of selling them for anywhere near their original price
