Christianity is unique because instead of man reaching up to achieve spiritually, in this faith, Divinity reaches down to make salvation available to humanity.

For example, with right meditation you can reach enlightenment (Buddhism) or with enough righteousness you can achieve paradise (Islam). Christianity says none are able to achieve spiritually on their own, and therefore must rest in the work of God (through the death, burial, resurrection and accession of Jesus Christ) in order to be given righteousness to be found acceptable by God.

It is also unique in faiths that have a deity that will judge all because instead of God just blindly ignoring sins that he (or she) has decided to forgive, the hatred of God was poured out on Jesus on the cross, so that hatred would not be poured out onto those that would believe and trust in Jesus.
