87 through 89 used 3 different turbos. 87 used a suck-through setup and a Garrett T03. 88/89 intercooled engines used a blow-through setup and a Garrett T03 with a different compressor cover. 88/89 non-intercooled engines used a Mitsubishi TE04H unit with the same blow-through setup. 1989 also saw an increase in size of exhaust from 2 1/4" to 2 1/2"
