Their jobs were mainly lumbering, ship building, and farming. They had markets and such where they sold little trinkets and stuff of that sort, but mostly it was selling lumbe…r, and crops that made their money. The wives stayed at home and cleaned the house. In Music Genres
As Aotearoa New Zealand * is now a largely westernized country, people in Aotearoa New Zealand listen to a lot of the same music as people in other western nations. The pop ch…arts reflect the same musical trends as other English-speaking countries. Reggae and Hip hop are very popular, particularly among Maori and other Polynesians. There is also a thriving home-grown music industry that has slowly developed over the last 30 years or so. Musical genres such as Reggae and Hip hop have evolved their own distinctive Pacific flavor. Of course with the rise of the internet, more people in Aotearoa New Zealand have access to the same music as the rest of the world. * Aotearoa is the Maori name for New Zealand. See the related links below for some examples and more information about the music of New Zealand.
This question can really only be answered by generalizing. Recreational music is the normal pop music that is on any other Western country's radio. Though the majority of yout…h enjoy genres of hip-hop/rap, R&B and pop songs. There is a vast interest in reggae and island reggae (e.g. Oshen, O.N.E.T.O.X.); which is also popular with the older population. There is also the norm of cultural music such as kundu drumming at cultural celebrations like Independence Day.
