The Twenty-fourth Amendment (Amendment XXIV) prohibits both Congress and the states from conditioning the right to vote in federal elections on payment of a poll tax or other types of tax.

The 16th Amendment gave Congress the right to collect income taxes. The 17th Amendment established that the Senate would be comprised of two senators from each state. The 18th Amendment established the prohibition of alcohol.
