Since deer are first order heterotrophs and if they get hunted or killed then the second order heterotrophs would not have much to eat and would probably die, then the third order heterotrophs would not have anything to eat. There for the numbers of the pyramid would drop drastically.

What does each type of ecological pyramid depict?

An ecological pyramid is simply a graphical representation of the relationship at each trophic level in a particular ecosystem. There are three types of ecological pyramids: of numbers, of energy, and of biomass. For example the pyramid of numbers is a representation of the number of organisms in each trophic level, with herbivores at the bottom as primary consumers, followed by first level carnivores and so on.

Ecological pyramids can be based on the numbers of individual organisms at each?

How does hunting help your ecosystem?

Hunting can harm our ecosystem by upsetting the natural balance of predator and prey species in a given environment. For example, if hunters come in and kill the majority of a certain predator, then the species that was kept in check by that predator begin to overpopulate their habitat. On the other hand, if a predator's food source is overhunted, such as rabbitts and other small game, then the species that was dependent on those animals for food will suffer. Hunting can also harm our ecosystem by hastening the extinction of our endangered and threatened species, which are killed in mass by big game hunters every year.

What has caused chimpanzees to be endangered?

The destruction of their habitat has caused chimpanzees to become endangered. Hunting and disease were also contributing factors to their declining numbers.

WHAT is the ecological importance?

To answer this question, we must first consider - What is the meaning of ecological balance? Ecological Balance is a state of dynamic equilibrium within a community of organisms in which genetic, species and ecosystem diversity remain relatively stable, subject to gradual changes through natural succession. It can also be referred to as 'a stable balance in the numbers of each species in an ecosystem'. In simple words, it is what keeps nature in harmony. Whatever is taken from the environment must be given back to it. In fact, phenomena like global warming, acid rain and pollution happen because the element taken from the environment is used up without replenishing it. If the ecological balance is disturbed, there can be drastic consequences, some of which are already happening

What is ecological diversiy?

The range/numbers of different species found in a given area.

How would an ecosystem with a greater number of individual herbivores than individual producers affect the shape of the ecosystem's pyramid of numbers?

It expresses biomass at different trophic levels in an ecosystem.

What are the concept of an ecological pyramid?

The ecological pyramid is basically the food chain. So, the producers (plants) are at the bottom, then herbivores (plant eaters), then above them are the omnivores or carnivores, and then the most powerful and top of the food chain animals are at the top of the pyramid.
