The Gastrocnemius and the Soleus flexes the knee and the foot. The Plantaris is an unimportant muscle. Many people do not have it and doctors tend to use this muscle for tendon graphs.

Muscle group involved plantar flexion and in dorsiflexion of the ankle?

Fibularis Longus and Fibularis Brevis are both Plantar Flexes, page 222 of the Human Anatomy & Physiology Lab Manual (Elaine N. Marieb and Susan J. Mitchell. The prime movers for plantar flexion are the gastrocnemius and soleus (known together as the triceps surae). The gastrocnemius is the larger of the two muscles and is the one visible if you "flex" the calf by lifting your heel off the ground and putting pressure on the front of the foot.

What muscles flex the knee?

hamstring group is the primary muscle group for flexing the knee

What is flex and extended?

Muscles that flex the knee are the hamstrings which include your semitendinosus, semimembranosus and biceps femoris musces. Muscles that extend the knee are the quadriceps muscles which includes your vastus lateralis obliques, vastus intermedius, vastus medialis obliques and your rectus femoris.

What is the gastronemius muscle?

The gastronemius muscle is one of the calf muscles and it plantar flexes the foot or flexes the knee.

How do the biceps quadriceps hamstrings deltoids gluteus maximus gastrocnemuis abdominals obliques pectorals trapezuis and erector spines work in order to produce movement?

Biceps flex the elbow. Quadriceps extend the knee. Hamstrings flex the knee. Deltoids abduct the humerus. Gluteus maximus extends the femur. Gastrocnemius flexes the knee and plantar flexes the ankle. Abdominal obliques flex and rotate the trunk. Pectoralis major adducts the humerus. Trapezius does many actions, mostly adduct and upwardly rotates scapula. Erector spinae erect the spine.

What is the antagonist of the vastus intermedius?

The antagonist of the vastus intermedius is the hamstring muscles, specifically the semitendinosus and semimembranosus muscles. These muscles work to flex the knee joint, while the vastus intermedius works to extend the knee joint.

What characteristics do the reflexes have in common?

The reflexes that have one thing in common are the knee, ankle, plantar jerk, biceps, and triceps. They are all governed by reflex arcs in the spine.
