I'm not aware of any polls or studies concerning this.

But you have to be specific about what you mean by being "pro atomic bomb". Does it mean someone thinks we should nuke an enemy at the first sign of trouble? Is it someone who believes that nuclear bombs are an acceptable option in dealing with a threat? Is it someone who simply accepts that nukes are a reality but prefers not to use them if at all possible?

In the context of WWII and the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, it is generally agreed by military historians and strategists that the bombings were necessary, and that they saved many more lives than they took by ending the war quickly.

The Japanese culture at the time was very xenophobic (this is still somewhat true), and they regarded foreigners as subhuman. They were tenacious soldiers who seldom retreated or surrendered (they were told by their superiors that the Allied forces would torture and experiment on them if they were captured).

To conquer Japan without the use of the atomic bombs would have required a painstaking capture and scouring of hundreds of islands in the South Pacific, working their way toward the Japanese mainland. Such an invasion would have succeeded, since Japan was already at a great disadvantage industrially (food and equipment supplies were decreasing).

But the cost in lives on both sides would have been enormous, and the conflict would have dragged on for several more years. Both Japan and the invading allies would be greatly weakened when it was over, and there was still the Nazi Germany side of the war to be considered. The Allies could not afford to be vulnerable to the Germans or risk losing the war there.
