There are about 14 million Jews in the world as of 2010; 6.2 million in Asia (including Israel), 5.5 million in America, two million in Europe and 100,000 in Africa. Out o…f the world's population of seven billion, the Jews are about 0.2%. And yet Jews have earned 22% of all individual recipients of Nobel Prizes worldwide between 1901 and 2009. Albert Einstein, the most influential scientist of all time and TIME magazine's "Person of the Century," was a Jew. Sigmund Freud -- id, ego, superego -- the father of psychoanalysis, was a Jew. So were Paul Samuelson and Milton Friedman. Here are a few other Jews whose intellectual output has enriched the whole of humanity: Benjamin Rubin gave humanity the vaccinating needle. Jonas Salk developed the first polio vaccine. Alert Sabin developed the improved live polio vaccine. Gertrude Elion gave us a leukaemia-fighting drug. Baruch Blumberg developed the vaccination for Hepatitis B. Paul Ehrlich discovered a treatment for syphilis (a sexually transmitted disease). Elie Metchnikoff won a Nobel Prize in infectious diseases. Bernard Katz won a Nobel Prize in neuromuscular transmission. Andrew Schally won a Nobel in endocrinology (disorders of the endocrine system; diabetes, hyperthyroidism). Aaron Beck founded Cognitive Therapy (psychotherapy to treat mental disorders, depression and phobias). Gregory Pincus developed the first oral contraceptive pill. George Wald won a Nobel for furthering our understanding of the human eye. Stanley Cohen won a Nobel in embryology (study of embryos and their development). Willem Kolff came up with the kidney dialysis machine. Stanley Mezor invented the first micro-processing chip. Leo Szilard developed the first nuclear chain reactor. Peter Schultz, the optical fibre cable; Charles Adler, traffic lights; Benno Strauss, stainless steel; Isador Kisee, sound movies; Emile Berliner, telephone microphone; and Charles Ginsburg, videotape recorder. Famous leaders in the business world who belong to Jewish faith include Ralph Lauren (Polo), Levis Strauss (Levi's Jeans), Howard Schultz (Starbucks), Sergey Brin (Google), Michael Dell (Dell Computers), Larry Ellison (Oracle), Donna Karan (DKNY), Irv Robbins (Baskins & Robbins) and Bill Rosenberg (Dunkin Donuts). Richard Levin, President of Yale University, is a Jew. So are Henry Kissinger (American secretary of state), Alan Greenspan (the Fed chairman under Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush II), Joseph Lieberman, Maxim Litvinov (USSR Foreign Minister), David Marshal (Singapore's first chief minister), Issac Isaacs (governor-general of Australia), Benjamin Disraeli (British statesman and author), Yevgeny Primakov (Russian PM), John Deutsch (CIA director), Herb Gray (Canadian deputy PM), Pierre Mendes (French PM), Michael Howard (British home secretary), Bruno Kreisky (chancellor of Austria) and Robert Rubin (American secretary of treasury). In the media, famous Jews include Wolf Blitzer (CNN), Barbara Walters (ABC News), Eugene Meyer (Washington Post), Henry Grunwald (editor-in-chief Time), Katherine Graham (publisher of The Washington Post), Joseph Lelyyeld (Executive editor, The New York Times), and Max Frankel (New York Times). At the Olympics, Mark Spitz set a record by wining seven gold medals. Lenny Krayzelburg is a three-time Olympic gold medalist. Spitz, Krayzelburg and Boris Becker are all Jewish. Did you know that Harrison Ford, George Burns, Tony Curtis, Charles Bronson, Billy Crystal, Woody Allen, Paul Newman, Peter Sellers, Dustin Hoffman, Michael Douglas, Ben Kingsley, Kirk Douglas, Goldie Hawn, Cary Grant, William Shatner, Jerry Lewis and Peter Falk are all Jewish? As a matter of fact, Hollywood itself was founded by a Jew. Among directors and producers, Steven Spielberg, Mel Brooks, Oliver Stone, Aaron Spelling (Beverly Hills 90210), Neil Simon (The Odd Couple), Andrew Vaina (Rambo 1/2/3), Michael Man (Starsky and Hutch), Milos Forman (One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest), Douglas Fairbanks (The thief of Baghdad) and Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters) are all Jewish. William James Sidis, with an IQ of 250-300, is the brightest human who ever existed. Guess what faith he belonged to? So, why are Jews so successful? Answer: Education, education, education. Knowledge is power. So maybe you should pick up a book and learn something new?

If the population of Asia is 4,050,404,000 and there are just under 6.8 billion people on the planet you will find this percentage to be approximately 59.56%. Th…ere are actually only about 3,900,000,000 people in Asia and the world population is about 6,970,000,000 so that comes to around 56%.
Most eastimates indiccate about 6% of the world population (420 to 500 million of 7 billion total population) is Buddhist. The number is difficult to determine as some cou…ntries with large populations (e.g. China) do not provide supportable data.
It's 82% for now. Highest rate in the history by the way.

Roman Catholic Answer That depends on how you define "Christian". The obvious answer is 100% as all Christians are Catholic, even if they are not a visible member of the Churc…h, if they have been validly baptised and profess the Nicene Creed in its traditional interpretration. Those who call themselves "Christian" but do not belong to the Church have classically been known as heretics, the explanation of which is below. The current usage of the word "Christian" to mean practially anything is to be deplored, it is even used of pagans who display some virtue which could be considered Christian. Those who have been raised in separated faiths, such as protestants, are only material heretics as explained below. from Modern Catholic Dictionary by John A. Hardon, S.J. Doubleday & Co., Inc. Garden City, NY 1980 Heresy. Commonly refers to a doctrinal belief held in opposition to the recognized standards of an establish system of thought. Theologically it means an opinion at variance with the authorized teachings of any church, notably the Christian, and especially when this promotes separation from the main body of faithful believers. In the Roman Catholic Church, heresy has a very specific meaning. Anyone who, after receiving baptism, while remaining nominally a Christian, pertinaciously denies or doubts any of the truths that must be believed with divine and Catholic faith is considered a heretic. Accordingly four elements must be verified to constitute formal heresy; previous valid baptism, which need not have been in the Catholic Church; external profession of still being a Christian, otherwise a person becomes an apostate; outright denial or positive doubt regarding a truth that the Catholic Church has actually proposed as revealed by God; and the disbelief must be morally culpable, where a nominal Christian refuses to accept what he knows is a doctrinal imperative. Objectively, therefore, to become a heretic in the strict canonical sense and be excommunicated from the faithful, one must deny or question a truth that is taught not merely on the authority of the Church but on the word of God revealed in the Scriptures or sacred tradition. Subjectively a person must recognize his obligation to believe. If he acts in good faith, as with most persons brought up in non-Catholic surroundings, the heresy is only material and implies neither guilt nor sin against faith. (Etym. Latin haeresis, from the Greek hairesis, a taking, choice, sect, heresy.) Of the some 2.2 billion people who are Christians approximately 1.2 billion are Roman Catholic. So slightly more than 50% of Christians are Roman Catholic.
Unbelievably, the percentage of the world's population being uneducated, is 46 percent. *Considering that most of the world's population is still involved in farming and other… subsistence activities, in villages or smaller social units, the figure of 46 percent is not credible.
