If you are asking because you fancy trying it I can only advise you to become a proficient caver first (if you aren't already - though if you are you wouldn't need to ask). Then take up cave-diving as a branch of caving, with proper training in cave-diving. An open-water diving background will help but it's not enough. In the UK it's through the Cave DivingGroup - I don't know the American equivalent but the NSS would advise you.
It is a highly-specialised combination of both activities. As you'd realise whendeep and far into some huge resurgence and you find you've used up over half your air and the silt you've disturbed has destroyed the visibility - because you went in without knowinghow to do so safely.
