Not to be overly cynical, but your tenant's kindness and apparent amity could be a ruse to lull you into a false sense of security. Knowing your whereabouts and how long you might be out of the house is just the sort of information you wouldn't want a stranger -- or a tenant who has a burglar for a boyfriend -- to know.
