In the US, each generation calls the last war that they remember most, to be the "Big War." In the 1890s, the "Big War" was the Civil War. In the 1930s, the big war was WWI. After 1945, the big war was WWII. When the WWII generation passes into history, another "Big War" will take it's place.
That is difficult to define, - in terms of all people killed, or in terms of soldiers killed, in terms of countries involved, in terms of global impact -etc. I believe it would be WW2 in most of these terms anyway.
The next big war after the Korean War was the Vietnam War.
