After president, his job was "Former President". He was very rich, and spent the rest of his live kicking back and writing his memoirs.

After leaving the presidency in January 1969, Johnson went home to his ranch in Stonewall, Texas. In 1971, he published his memoirs, The Vantage Point.

Harry Truman was the last president who had to hold a day job to get by after being President, until finally he was voted a small pension.

Most ex-presidents are multi-millionaires and those that are too bored supplement their income by taking speaking engagements at $100,000+, bring in a couple million dollars a year.
