Here is the story of the presidency of Abraham Lincoln.In 1861 the Civil War started after the south attacked Fort Sumter in South Carolina.In 1862 Warren G.Burd became the first Ospen City chief justice.In 1863 Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation which helped to free the slaves.In 1864 Lincoln ran for a second term and won.He chose Andrew Johnson as his vice president.On January 31,1865 the 13th Amendment ended slavery in the United States.On April 9,1865 the south surrendered and this ended the Civil War.Abraham Lincoln died on April 15,1865 the day after being shot by actor John Wilkes Booth.
