It depends during which czar's time, if you would live during the Ivan IV (ivan the terrible) you would have more chances to die then during other czar's times, but Ivan IV also made some improvements to Russia, he started to trade with other countries, explored Siberia, fought Tatar-Mongols and took back the cities Astrakhan', Kazan and others, he was the first ruler of Russia who had official title "czar" and was crowned as an emperor of Russia but prior to him all rulers were under Byzantine emperors. In general during czarist Russia rich people live much better then peasants, but if a person was an honest hardworking peasant he and his family was granted by the landlords and live pretty good. The people who always wanted to overthrow the czars were lazy city people who wanted to be rich without working so they tried to make rich people poor and make themselves rich.
