Titanic sunk in April 1912. The events of the week included the death of Bram Stoker, the opening of Fenway Park in Boston and the first flight across the English Channel by a woman, Harriet Quimby.
The iceberg hit the titanic on it's port (left) side, it sank on April 15, 1912 at 2:20 am, and 706 people survived and 1,517 people perished. That is a total of 2,223 people on board. The youngest Survivor was 2 months and she died on 31st may 2009.
