The Battle of Stamford Bridge, fought on September 25,1066 was a blitz led by King Harold II against the encampment of the Norsemen invaders under King Harold III Hardrada and his ally Tostig, the brother of the English king.

Hardrada's army was annihilated and nearly all the invaders, including their king and Tostig were killed.
