Pocahontas saved an English man named John Smith during his execution, simply by placing her head upon his own.
WRONG
THE ANSWER ABOVE IS WRONG
Pocahontas did not save John Smith. She was dead when Smith wrote this in a book several years after Jamestown. Smith was an adventurer, lied, and a general scalawag. He did anything that would benefit him and improve his status. This is one reason the men of Jamestown hated him and put gunpowder on him while he was sleeping and set it on fire. He had to return to England because of his burns. Pocahontas was taken hostage by the colonist and held for 4 years. In that time she became a Christian and changed her name to Rebecca. She married John Rolfe when he came to Jamestown and left with him to England. While there she gives birth to a boy and dies soon after and is buried in England. She was about 19 years old.
