The US Rifle M14 was the standard US Army & US Marine Corps rifle of the Vietnam War up until about 1967. The M16 was classified as a jungle rifle up until then and ONLY ISSUED to Vietnam or special jungle warfare operations (Central America, etc.).

The standard US ground support jet was the F100 Super Sabre. This is the longest serving in combat US warplane in history...from 1961 thru 1971. Ten years of steady combat!

The M48 Patton medium gun tank is the last Patton tank to serve in an American war; this was the primary American battle tank in Vietnam. Just in case you were wondering, the M60 Main Battle Tank did not serve in Vietnam and was officially classified as the M60 Combat Tank. This tank (the M60) was replaced by the current M1 Abrams MBT.

The US Navy Swift Boat (PCF-Patrol Craft Fast) was the primary riverine boat which fought on both the inland rivers and the ocean coast line.
