I'm not sure what the one most popular book is, but "Le Petit Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was (and still is) pretty popular. "Le Petit Prince" has been translated into more languages than any other book besides The Bible and one other book that I'm not remembering the name of. "Le Petit Prince," or "The Little Prince" in English, was such a popular book that they had Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's face printed on some French currency posthumously (I think...I know they did print something that had to do with Antoine de Saint-Exupéry or with "The Little Prince" onto French currency...) Yes Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's face was to be seen on French bank notes when we still had French francs. Other well-known books are Astérix and Tintin - but I hasten to add that the author of Tintin was Belgian (as was the author of Maigret).
"The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is one of the most popular French books of all time. It has been translated into numerous languages and continues to be cherished worldwide for its poignant themes and timeless storytelling.
