The result of the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794 was that after Washington and Hamilton marched to western Pennsylvania the revolt collapsed because they were too afraid of an army 15,000 strong attacking them. 20 of the men were arrested but later all except for two were abdicated. The other two were hung sadly. This then let the American people trust that the government could stop an outbreak like this and that they were much stronger that the previous government under the Articles of Confederation. The tax was collected but without much success since it was difficult to do.
