There was unemployment on a very small scale in the United Kingdom during world war one. Even though most of the men were away fighting and the women were in the factory or in clerical jobs, there was unemployed due to a vast number of reasons.
Employment worldwide after the war was scarce wherever there were areas very bombed out. In Germany jobs were so scarce the Allies created jobs for the remaining people, jobs like removing rubble or food distribution. In Japan jobs were sparse as well because of all the aerial bombing done by the Allies. Many of the men had been killed so the country had to figure out how to provide jobs for widows, mothers and sisters who lost their men.
In England, jobs were created by hiring the returning soldiers to do construction of new homes (to replace the destroyed homes) and public buildings. The men could not all be hired for that work so some struggled to find new jobs when they returned home.
In the US employment was more available to the returning GIs and other armed forces but not all of the men and women found jobs the minute they returned home. A GI bill was created by the US government to help the men and women who served to go to college, get cars and buy homes. New careers and professions were available to the college graduates. This increased the middle class white collar status in the USA.
Employment after World War 1 was discouraged for women. This was because women were taking up jobs in the market that men coming home from the war needed.
Unemployment increased after the war was over because the soldiers came home to no jobs. Nowadays, employers have to hold soldiers jobs when they are returning from war.
because after the war, so much money was put into funding the troops that buisnesses couldn't pay there workers so they let them go and that causes the uneployment. hope it helped
unemployment
In the United States, the unemployment rate reached its recent peak of 14.7% in April 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
World War 1
It was during the Great Depression, a few years after World War 1 ended that millions of Germans became unemployed. However, the Great Depression affected the entire human population in at least some way. It left a great majority of people poor and with very little hope.
World war 1 generated jobs at home in England and in the military.
After World War 1 countries like England and France should have ignored for the humiliating treaties to Germany Austria Hungary Bulgaria and Turkey.
Yes but the solution eventually led into World War 2 because we blamed Germany for causing World War 1 and Germany didn't agree with that so that was one of the causes for world war 2 but World war 1 was solved by making Germany pay a lot of money
