Cocero followed Stoic philosophy and therefore his ideas were centred on the principles of stoicism.He was an upholder of morality and wrote important pieces on ethics. He was also an upholder of Roman tradition and of the institutions of the Roman Republic. He was an admirer and supporter of the aristocracy and looked down on the poor. He was also opposed to politicians who wanted reforms to improve the conditions of the poor.
