A Jeep can stall out after running for a few minutes if there are impurities in the fuel or if the transmission is messed. A faulty transmission may also be noticed if there is a delay in shifting or someone needs to restart the car every now and then.
Had a Jeep in the shop here with that problem last week and it turned out to be low fuel pressure. Try running a fuel pressure test. The Jeep would idle ok but when you tried to accelerate the engine would stall.
usually the factory alarm
Usually, a jeep's engine stalls in idle mode because of a battery power fault or because there is no gas. However, it is common for any car to stall when it has not been running for a period of time and the engine is cold.
There are several things that can cause your Jeep to stall while idling. The timing may be off or your fuel filter may be clogged.
brake booster vacuum leak,or bad brake booster.
Having the speedometer jump and the engine stall in the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo could be a problem with the idle and the transmission. The transmission slipping can cause the speedometer to jump.
a blocked fuel filter causes spluttering and stalling although it could be a gypsy curse
The first thing I would try would be cleaning the throttle body with some carb and choke cleaner. When they get really dirty it can cause you to stall at slow speeds. On my 93 there is a Crank Shaft Position sensor. Mine started to melt and the jeep stalled at weired times for a week. If your jeep has a lock up solenoid in your tranny and its stuck on, then you will stall at stops Not sure about a 94, but my 2000 would stall while driving at highway speeds. Dealer replaced the oxygen sensor and it fixed the problem.
faulty throttle position sensor?
Most likely problem is a low voltage problem. Week battery, alternator. etc..
No. It would only prevent you from starting.
Sounds like the fuel pump. Maybe you have some wires crossed.
