You need to have the brake fluid changed immediately. Washer fluid will damage all of the seals in the brake system
Engine oil reservoir, differential, radiator, power steering reservoir, brake fluid reservoir, windshield washer fluid reservoir, transmission or clutch.
Not as long as you put the proper fluid into the proper place such as, motor oil into the engine, gasoline in the fuel tank, antifreeze in the cooling system reservoir, transmission fluid in the transmission, brake fluid in the brake system reservoir, power steering fluid in the power steering reservoir, windshield washer fluid in the windshield washer fluid reservoir and don't forget to put blinker fluid in the blinkers! :)
Generally to hold liquids. Like a Windshield washer or brake fluid reservoir. But also to hold things like a "Vacuum" (yes I know a vacuum does not exists but That's what the car manufacturers call it)
On a 2002 Ford Ranger : The reservoir would be in the engine compartment There are reservoirs for brake fluid , windshield washer fluid , power steering fluid , engine coolant , etcetera

The first thing you should do is remove the master cylinder so you can dump the brake fluid reservoir out. If you have used the brakes, it is a very good idea to get the entire brake system bled and replace all the brake fluid.
It is under the hood, driver side, up near the base of the windshield.
In my 1965 Corvair, it is in the Front Hood (Cargo trunk), on the driver side by the windshield.
