What would you like to do?
When an adult gains an extra 10 pounds of body weight how much of this weight is fat?
If you were to lose only muscle mass, your total weight would decrease, but your body fat percentage would increase, as you'd be a greater percent body fat.
fat is stored energy to be used at a later date. (p.s. look at wikipedias entry for gaining)
Most likely due to the loss of muscle mass.
Mature adipose cells do not divide to make more cells, but they canget larger. Liposuction removes adipose cells so excessive fatcannot be regained in that area.
If someone weighs 142 pounds and has 10 percent body fat how much weight can they lose to get to 7 percent body fat?
It has very little to do with how much "weight" you lose, it's strictly how much fat you lose to drop bmi. You could lose 5 lbs and remain at the same bmi if all you lose is w…ater and muscle. Dropping bmi takes a calculated and delibrate diet and exercise routine. If you are 142 lbs and are at 10 percent, then that means you have approx 14lbs of fat on your body. If your goal is to drop 3 points, then you simply figure out what 7 percent of 142 is....approx 10. So if you were to drop about 4 pounds of fat while keeping your overall weight at 142 you should find yourself at 7 percent.
There are far too many variables to answer this question. How fast is the sugar eaten? It is consumed over a one-week period? Over a month? A year? And what is the metabolism …of the consumer like? And do they exercise or are they sedentary? More questions could be asked, but these few make the point that with the information given an accurate answer cannot be forthcoming.. As an alternative, a link to a related question can be found below. It will tell you something about the calorie content, and you can consider what might happen eating that much sugar. Different people and different activity levels will have a dramatic effect on how much of that sugar is "burned" and how much stored as extra weight.
The typical chocolate has about 150 calories per ounce, so a poundof it contains 150 x 16 = 2400 calories. A pound (including a pound of fat) equals 454 grams. Each gram offat… holds 9 calories. So it takes 454 x 9 = 4,086 calories to gaina pound of fat. A pound of chocolate would give you 2400 / 4086 =about 0.6 of that. So a pound of chocolate corresponds to roughly0.6 lb of fat on your body. You wouldn't gain the whole poundbecause part of the chocolate isn't digestible and your body isn't100% efficient. Of course you're not guaranteed to gain the weight -- it depends onyour level of activity and what else you eat. If you cut 2400calories of other foods out of your diet (which for most people isa WHOLE DAY worth of food), or if you burn off 2400 caloriesthrough exercise (ride a bike really fast for about 2-3 hours), youwon't gain any weight at all.
eat a lot of doughnuts, coffee, sugar, soda, cake, pastries, pizza, mcdonalds, and burger king. don't exercise a lot. that's what i do- stuff myself with a lot of fattening fo…ods. so far I've gained 20 pounds, and its been placed in very nice spots (well, mostly). i used to weigh 120, but now i weigh 156 :) . the fat weight has been distributed in my butt, my stomach, my arms, and my thighs, with a little more weight in my face. I'm 5'3. with a pear shaped body, so the weight does not make me look bad, but rather very curvy and thick. if you gain weight like i did and you have a apple shaped body, i would not recommend doing this. but, overall, lots of pastries and fast food. do some exercises so you don't end up not being able to sit up easily. if you're African American, mixed, multiracail, or hispanic, try doing Buffie the Body's exercises, if you don't want to end up loking all saggy and stuff. :)
Well, there is no standard procedure to measure how much muscle the person has built, so if we assume all the weight was fat weight, then the person would have gained 10 pound…s of fat. Remember: The fact that most weigh like 5-10 pounds more when we go to bed than when we wake up has to do with the weight of the food consumed, not increase in body mass.
7 pounds of fat
weight lifting. remember muscle weighs more than fat.

each gram of fat contains 14 calories, to gain one pound you need to consume 3500 calories, so 6 grams of fat = 84 calories 84/3500 = .024 * 100 = 2.4 so 2.4% of a pound.
