Until after the wound is completely healed, especially if it's in a location which would be put under stress during swimming. However if it's a wound which you could easily apply a waterproof dressing to, it's probably okay to begin swimming again so long as the site is dressed appropriately.

∙ 10y agoThis depends on how well your wounds heal and whether it was abdominal or laproscopic. You should not attempt this until your doctor has given you the all clear and probably not for about four weeks.
