Only one person could fit on the first plane. The engine was not much better than a lawn mower engine (but much heavier). I have added some photos for you to see the plane on the link below.

Yes, Amelia had siblings. A sister named Muriel who was nicknamed (Pidge) and wrote a biography of her sister Amelia. Muriel died in l999 or thereabouts, see the question on A. E's brothers and sisters.
As a child Amelia did many things. She was home schooled by her mother along with her siblings Muriel and Donald. Also as a teenager Amelia went to a candy shop to work in her town. Also believe it or not Amelia did not see her first plane until she was 11 at an Iowa State Fair.
