They were also not one-of-a-kind and were therefore not thought of as unique enough to be an artwork. Many people disagreed with the idea that something as simple and insignificant as a soup can could be considered and art work. Most people painted things such as important people such as royalty. The soup cans were also screen printed which was not traditional and Warhol used very commercial techniques.

Cans come in different sizes. But typically, it would be about a dozen.
The room consists of four walls, each 12ft long by 10ft high for a total of 4(120ft2). So if a can covers 120ft2, it takes 4 cans. If the ceiling is to be painted it requires enough more paint to cover 144ft2 or another 1.2 cans. If the floor is also to be painted, then another 1.2 cans. The entire room, walls, floor and ceiling can be painted with 6.4 cans; better buy 7.
