Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did not abolish slavery - by the time he was born, the slavery of blacks in the U.S. was already illegal. The Thirteenth Amendment put an end to slavery on December 18, 1865, when Abraham Lincoln was president.
Martin Luther King Jr. didn't stop slavery. He fought against racism.
Martin Luther King wasn't even alive when there was slavery. Slavery happened in the 1800s. He was born in the 1900s. He fought against racism and segregation. Lincoln stopped slavery.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did not technically free black people from slavery. Abraham Lincoln is credited with that by the Emancipation Proclamation. The great contribution of Dr. King was that he encouraged black people to insist upon the exercise of that freedom, through peaceful protest and civil disobedience. There is still a great deal of prejudice, but every effort to insist being treated equally is worthwhile.
slaves had already been freed.
Many people support Martin Luther King Junior. People who supported equal rights for all supported him and religious groups supported him as well.
Yes, some people did.
He helped people by showing people that the color of skin and the shape of someone's nose or eyes didn't matter but to be judged by the content of ones character. Also, to people that blacks and whites are equal and there is no need for fighting or killing in the world because of the color of ones skin. It shouldn't matter wether you are purple, blue, pink, black or white. We are all people and that's all that matters. Discrimanation is not the answer to anything nor is slavery. So, don't treat people bad just because they are a little difrent :) Trust me I am Caucasion and an African American girl picks on me because I am White. It isn't right. I wish she would know how it felt but that's not right either. Anyways i hope that answers your question XD
He never really SUCCEEDED. Martin Luther King wanted everyone to have equal rights yet most the population is still racist and cruel. Martin Luther King did help somewhat. Thanks to him no one is getting beatin for things they didn't do but Martin Luther's dream has not been fulfilled. But what helped was that people stood by him through all of this. Without them Martin Luther King wouldn't have gotten to where he had.

There's a 'junior' that makes your question totally different. Martin Luther King and Martin Luther King Jr. are totally two different people. And yes, Martin Luther King Jr. surely helped. But I don't think Martin Luther King did.
No Martin Luther King junior is NOT the same person as Nelson Mandela. They are to completely different people. Have you heard of Martin Luther King's beginning of his speech? Martin Luther King- "Five score years ago..." Nelson Mandela- "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate."
because he didnt want there to be slavery
Martin Luther King and Martin Luther are two completely different people. Martin Luther King was born in the United States.
Martin Luther (10 November 1483 to 18 February 1546) was a German monk, priest, professor of theology and seminal figure of the Protestant Reformation. He lived well before the black people and slavery issue in America happened and therefore could not have had anything to do with the matter.
rosa parks and martin luther king jr.
No, Martin Luther King Jr. was not alive during slavery. He made a speech about the segregation. Like how black people had to use crappy supplies and stand on buses when all the seats weren't full.
