In 1947, India split in to 2 parts, Pakistan (For Muslims) and India (For Hindus). In the partition, East and West Pakistan were separated by 870 miles. West Pakistan was much stronger politically than the Eastern Wing, so this lead to political and economic neglect, ethnic discrimination, and civil disobedience.
