Beetles have historically never been big drug-takers, but in 2009 some insects started being used for testing in laboratories rather than animals (see the related links below). That could have been the beginning. Now there are interventions, 12-step programs, and a high rate of Beetle delinquency. It's really quite sad to see the Beetles on their downward spiral. Hopefully eventually they will wake up and realize how they are ruining their lives, and realize that they have insect support systems around them, and other bugs just waiting for them to admit their problem so they can help.
