Best Answer

Early to mid spring depending on your USDA zone to give them enough time to grow and produce fruit. They take 4-6 weeks and can cost around $3-$5 for a pack of seeds. Plant 2-3 seeds in a hill. You can also purchase seedlings from your local nursery. When they begin fruiting they will need a consistent supply of water or they can become bitter.

Note that different regions have different ideal planting times because they have different growing seasons; the closer to the equator, the longer the growing season (in a tropical climate you can plant any time you like, since the growing season never ends). In a temperate climate, you would plant cucumber in the spring, like most crops, but not so early that there is a risk that the plants would die of frost.

Cucumbers are ready for harvest usually from midsummer onwards. Harvest cucumbers 3-4 times per week as fruit matures; this allows the setting of new flowers and fruit. Harvest when the fruit is elongated and the seeds are still succulent.

That depeneds on when you really planted the cucumbers because the best time to plant is in spring so you can inrolve the seed and water it everyday. Be carful in winter because its less likely to have sun for the cucumbers to stay alive so to answer your question the best time is in spring when they are being picked hope it helped :)
