If you plan to plant tomatoes, temperature is the first thing you need to consider. You can start planting when thee temperature is steady at 50 degrees Fahrenheit. If the tomatoes have to start bearing fruit, its need to be warm as 55 degrees Fahrenheit. As with most of the fruits, sunlight is very essential. The watering will mainly depend on the weather conditions. You need to increase the frequency if the weather is hot. The fruit can be very adaptable when it comes to soil. Most fertilizers can be just fine. Try to add compost to the soil when planting tomatoes.

If you put some time release fertilizer in the ground under the plant when you plant it, it will get a good start. Later when the tomatoes are developing you can feed them about once ever 6 to 8 weeks.
