Sanskrit is the ancient most language written in Devnagri i.e. Hindi script.

There is no specific date available in History but is said to be learnt from Rishis by Shruti, meaning by hearing. Later that was adopted to write the Vedas and from the date Vedas are written and read, Sanskrit was recognised.
