Hey. You have to be at least 16 to jet a year round job, or at least 14 to get a job in the summer (June, July, and August. They do this so high school students can get money for whatever reason) One place a young teenager can work is the Delaware State fair grounds in delaware. I don't know the age requirment, but my buddy worked their when he was out of school. Good luck!
While your work ethic is admirable it is tough to get a job as a 12 year old... mainly because of labor laws. Most states require that you be atleast 14 years old before you can legally work, and even then many require that you obtain a work permit (usually very easy to do) and your hours of work are usually limited at that age as well. HOwever, having said that, I have always had a job... from the ripe old age of 12 myself (I am now 37 and work as a Registered Nurse). Of course, the fact that you need to be indoors limits you furthur as it takes out all the obvious things like paper route, lawn mowing, raking leaves (you would be amazed at the amount of money people are willing to pay to get their lawns mowed.. though it is hard work). If you have to be indoors, I think you might consider trying to find someone who needs help around the house. You may not make as much as a professional housekeeper but it would be a start. Also, consider being a mothers helper. While you are still a little young to join the babysitting crowd, a mothers helper looks out and cleans up after the kids while the mother is still home. Eventually, as you get a little older and moms get to know you, they may feel comfortable leaving the kids with you while they runs errands. Lastly, if you do a good job with the limited options you have now, you will have some good references when you are old enough to get the kind of job you are looking for.
