I was told by a Frio Lay employee stocking shelves at my local grocery store that they have discontinued their dry dip mixes. Figures - every time I find something I really like they stop making it.
If you are thinking about a 'dip' based on 'sour cream', then there is "French Onion Dip" where you add a packet of dried (instant) Onion Soup to sour cream, mix it well and then use as a dip for chips, (crisps) and vegetable sticks. It is verygood.
Fried Green Tomatoes: slice green tomatoes and one onion, add teaspoon Italian seasoning, little salt and pepper, mix together, put into a frying pan with some olive oil, cook for about 15-20 minutes . Or you can dip the slices of tomatoes in an egg mixture and then into bread crumbs and fry them that way
I take a 500ml container of sour cream and add one package of instant onion soup mix. Not my recipe but one of my favs and really easy to make. You can let the mixture sit for an hour to soften the onion bits or just service it right away and have crunchy onion bits....I do both! lol enjoy
If I not have time then I mix powder of onion
Mix water with the mortar mix until it is a paste-like consistency. Then dip some of the mortar mix out with a hand trowel and turn the trowel upside down. If the mortar clings to the trowel blade, the mixture is perfect.
dip for fruits = mix vanilla yogurt with sugar and/or cinnamon and a little bit of milk to obtain a good consistency and texture.another easy and cheap dip is peanut butter!dip for chips = mix sour cream, salt, jalapeno pepper, and chili powder.another dip idea is the classical tomato onecut half a tomato into cubes and set aside, the other half to be put in the blender with salt and a jalapeno chili or less or more depending on how spicy you want it add just enough water to moisture, the heart of an onion and some cilantro leaves. blend and serve then add the cubed tomato mix, and enjoy!
That is a personal preference. I use about 8 oz broccoli to 4 oz each of red cabbage, green cabbage and sweet onion,
Fresh onions always make my eyes water when I am peeling them. However, an onion soup mix does not have that affect. The onions are not fresh and there is no reason that your eyes should turn red from opening a package of onion soup mix.
Ranges from $2-$4 depending on where you purchase the mix from.
