Where can you rent the 3 season of Nancy drew and hardy boys?

As of April 2011, there is no DVD release of season 3... Sad to say :(

edit: The problem with DVDs is that no one, but NO ONE, saw the DVD revolution coming. The folks who created, wrote, produced these TV shows did not foresee that anyone would want to watch them again. The contracts that folks signed on these shows likely included *only* syndication rights (such as re-airing on Nick or Disney TV), but nothing about distribution in other media.

With that said, the major problem facing all the older pre-DVD-revolution TV shows is that of getting EVERYONE involved in the show to sign new or amended contracts to cover all the payment and rights issues. And with THAT said, season three of the Hardy Boys is the most problematic, because it uses a lot of 70s pop music, most notably that of David Gates and Bread ("If" was used extensively in Last Kiss of Summer", for example, and others of Bread songs in other episodes). If Gates refuses to sign contracts for those DVDs, or is insisting on special recompense for the use of his music or his appearance in the show...well. That would hold up the release of the entire season.

Now I have no idea if Gates is the one holding things up; it could be any of the celebrities who appeared in season three. It might even be the producers or writers or regular actors/crew behind the holdup -- though it's doubtful that Cassidy & Stevenson are holding things up, since seasons 1 & 2 are released. Your best bet is going to be to ask around on forum boards (such as the Yahoo Hardy Boys group) and see if anyone's recorded season three off Disney or Nick for you.
