I'm not sure that "temporarily" is quite the right word to use for a two-year period where a pet is involved. If you want to get the cat back eventually, your best bet is friends or family. I don't know of any kind of boarding service that would agree to take a cat for two years, and if you could find one, it would probably be prohibitively expensive.
Actually, I just searched and found a place you might want to put a call in to. There's a link in the "related links" section. They charge $425 a month (as of this writing), they don't seem to have any maximum stay (most of the other places I saw had a maximum stay of 3-4 months), and the cat (or cats, if you have more than one) get a (small) room to stay in rather than a cage. Note and disclaimer: I have not used this facility and am not necessarily recommending it, I just found it on the internet.
