Queen Victoria stabbed him to death when he was 32, on the 17th March 1856 at 8:00pm with a knife. She was jealous he was getting all the attention from UK so she had her revenge. I personally don't think she was correct to do that. Few people know, because she was so sly at keeping it a secret by mourning.
