He and his Tokugawa descendants built and lived in Edo Castle, the biggest castle in the world at the time. It burned to the ground some time later. This was in Edo (Tokyo).

Later on the Tokugawa shogunate built Nijo Jo (Nijo Castle) in Kyoto as their primary residence. You can visit Nijo Jo today and be amazed at its grace, beauty, hidden defense systems, elegance, and opulence!
