Capitalism was never founded Economy's that tended to have a free market attitude were the result of The democratic principles that became part of the culture of the counties that first went through the industrial revolution. Those same country's were also heavily involved in the subjugation and enslavement of the majority of the rest of the world. Thievery is not capitalism so there have to date been no capitalist society's.

The first nation to have a Stock Market was Holland as well as the Dutch East Indes was a trading company from Holland that owned a nation, so it could be said that modern corporatistic capitalism has many things that are similar to the Netherlands at that time.
