It all comes from hardcore. Punk split off into a few different genres after its inception in the mid-late 70s. One of these was hardcore, seen as being more pure and loyal to the core aesthetics of the movement - hence the name hardcore. Over the years, metal bands from many different metal subgenres took on hardcore influences, hence sludgecore, deathcore, grindcore, metalcore... although applecore is really only Lawnmower Deth taking the p's

There are several sub-genre's derriving from the original metal genre, including: Black Metal. Death Metal. Thrash Metal. Power Metal. Heavy Metal. Then there are some other genre's which some 'metalheads' don't think derrived from metal, but do. These include: Hardcore. Deathcore. Metalcore. Grindcore. Post-Hardcore. Screamo. Then there are unnecessary genre's which didn't need to be added, genre's like; Melodic death metal, which could just be death metal. etc. Hope this helped.
Grindcore 85 Minutes of Brutal Heavy Metal - 1993 was released on: USA: 16 December 2003 (DVD premiere)
Probably some of the newer kinds, like Deathcore or Grindcore, that's because the more technologically advanced we get, the heavier sounds we can get, back in the late 60s and early 70s, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest were the heaviest things around, and nowadays we don't think they're that heavy. Maybe it seems impossible by now, but 10 years from now, we may be able to create heavier sounds.
No. It is a typical heavy metal (metalcore) band with no Christian message.
The question is if you know the difference between deathcore and metalcore. To give you an idea, Bullet For My Valentine is Metalcore... and their best songs are "Tears don't fall", "Alone" and "Hearts burst into fire". The other style, deathcore, is much more aggressive and has bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Suicide silence... BMTH is the most famous, but I'll give you a good song from both. BMTH - "Diamonds aren't forever" and Suicide silence - No time to Bleed. There, hope that settles your dilemma. :) UPDATE: there are only 2 types of Heavy Metal Hardcore and Pussycore Hardcore is bands like Slayer, Lamb of God, Exsanguination,Hatebreed etc. Pussycore is everything else metal.
according to there myspace status they are Death Metal / Grindcore / Hardcore so ya pretty much.. a type of heavy metal.
Alternative metal Avant-garde metal/Experimental metal Black metal Christian metal Crust punk Death metal ---Technical Death metal ---Melodic Death metal Doom metal ---Funeral doom ---Drone metal Extreme metal (also describes Death metal, black metal, doom metal, and some thrash metal collectively) Folk metal Glam metal Gothic metal Grindcore Groove metal Industrial metal Metalcore ---Deathcore ---"Nintendocore" Neo-classical metal/Shred Nu metal Power metal Post-metal Progressive metal ---Djent Rap metal Speed metal Stoner metal Symphonic metal Thrash metal Traditional heavy metal Viking metal Note that any of these genres can be fused in any way imaginable. In fact, that is how some types came to be, like djent, which is a fusion of progressive metal, metalcore, groove metal, technical death metal, and experimental metal.
Djent bands, some Deathcore bands, and slow/heavy metalcore bands. Basically, any band that plays in a really low tuning probably has some sick breakdowns. Try checking out, The Acacia Strain, Creations, Emmure, EVILA, Fit For A King, Gideon, Impending Doom, Kublai Khan, Mouth Of THe South, An Oath To Prevail, Oceano, Of An Empire, Dead.Last, IORI, The Rendering, Volumes, Structures, 2x4.
The song you are looking for is Rise and Oppose by the metalcore band Diecast.
Most of what gets passed off as Metalcore nowadays really isn't. But, even in the 80s, with bands such as Carnivore and SOD, they were typically more Hardcore than Metal. Metalcore was created as a means of classing bands which blended elements of the two, but weren't able to be grouped into existing categories. These bands would typically cross over Hardcore with Thrash (which itself was a result of the blending of Hardcore Punk and Heavy Metal).
