umm ok...different people are obviously getting different statements. for the statement...although my country earned its independence decades ago...the answer would be post World War 2 South Africa

∙ 11y agoNo, not usually. The Speaker is the leader of the majority party in the House of Representatives, and he or she is usually not a part of the president's family. Customarily, only the president and his immediate family live in the White House. Even the Vice President does not live there.
The Speaker generally will have an apartment or home in or near Washington DC; and he or she will at times return to the state from which they were elected to congress, where they keep a residence. For example, when Nancy Pelosi (Democrat) was the speaker, she would return to her home in California; John Boehner (Republican) is the current speaker and he is from Ohio, where he still lives when not performing his congressional duties.
